We operate under a clear policy of equal pay for equal work, with salaries collectively agreed to ensure transparency and consistency across all ranks. As a result, women employed at the same rank as men receive 100% of the equivalent pay. Our gender pay gap reflects the traditional gender composition of roles within the Merchant Navy, particularly the ERRV sector, rather than any disparity in pay practices. In fact, due to the high proportion of women in officer roles, our data shows a neutral gender pay gap, meaning that, on average, women earn the same as their male counterparts.
